Stardew Valley Secret Notes
The Stardew Valley game has many interesting artifacts and hidden collectible items which can be unlocked if you know how to do it. A good example of such interesting items is Secret Notes. In Winter, you can walk from the Farm to the Bus Stop and activate a cutscene with a Shadow Guy ( perhaps, it’s Krobus). If you want to unlock a collectible Secret Note, you should go for a walk from 6 AM to 4 PM. At the end of the cutscene, you will see a new quest (“A Winter Mystery”) appear in your player’s journal. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to activate the cutscene if you ride a horse.
Follow the Shadow Guy’s footsteps and you’ll find a bush near the Community Center. If you interact with the bush, you’ll see the Shadow Guy. He will apologize and give you a Magnifying glass. After this, he’ll quickly run away. The Magnifying Glass allows you to search for Secret Notes while killing monsters, mining, digging, fishing, or chopping trees.
To read a new Secret Note, right-click it in your inventory. This note will appear in your collection. You’ll also enable a new tab on the menu (“Secret Notes”). Some Stardew Valley Secret Notes may suggest loved items for different characters, while others will help you solve puzzles.
The List of Secret Notes
Note 1
The first note is from Abigail’s diary, it contains a list of some items she loves.
Note 2
The second note is Sam’s shopping list. It includes some nice gifts for Sebastian, Vincent, Penny, Jodi, Kent, and Sam himself.
Note 3
The third note is a recipe for Leah’s perfect dinner (Truffle, Salad, Goat Cheese, and Wine).
Note 4
This note includes a list of items Maru needs for some great invention (Gold Bar, Iridium Bar, Battery Pack, Diamond, Strawberries).
Note 5
Here is Penny’s shopping list with good gifts for Vincent, Jas, Granny Mullner, and Mr. Mullner.
Note 6
The sixth note is a list of special orders in Stardrop Saloon, including orders from Demetrius, Mayor Lewis, Caroline, and Marnie.
Note 7
This Secret Note contains some information about “older” bachelors in Stardew Valley game, such as Shane, Harvey, and Elliott. If you want to marry them, this note will tell you what bad habits they have and what items they love.
Note 8
A short incomplete list of the best gifts for Emily and Haley.
Note 9
A list of ingredients for Alex’s training diet (Salmon Dinner and Complete Breakfast).
Note 10
The tenths note unlocks only after you complete the quest called “Qi’s Challenge.” You will be told that someone waits for you in the skull cavern on level 100. After you read this note, a new quest (“Cryptic Note”) will appear in your journal. When you reach level 100, you’ll see a cutscene. Depending on whether or not you’ve used Staircases, Mr. Qi will either congratulate you on reaching level 100 without them or call you “clever but not honorable.” He will also give you Iridium Snake Milk, which adds 25 health points.
Note 11
A picture of a woman with a child on a farm.
Note 12
This note contains suggestions on useful items you can find in the garbage cans. For example, you may find treasures in the cans by the Museum and the Blacksmith.
Note 13
Another note contains advice to check the bush above the playground, in any season, on day 28th, at 12 PM. If you follow this advice and interact with the bush, you’ll get a Junimo Plush.
Note 14
In this note, somebody tells you about an item hidden behind the Community Center. Approach the right side of the wooden fence, and you will find a Stone Junimo. You can get it by using a pickaxe or a hoe.
Note 15
This note says “Mermaid Show 1-5-4-2-3.” When you play Stardew Valley during the Night Market, enter the boat on the right, and start the Mermaid Show. The numbers in the note suggest in which order you should open shells with different numbers. If you do everything right, you’ll win a Pearl.
Note 16
This note has a picture of a place where you can find a Treasure Chest (on the right of the north side of the Railroad tracks).
Note 17
It’s another picture with a red cross that indicates a place with a hidden item. This time, the item is a green Strange Doll. Go north of JojaMart, and you’ll find this place by the river.
Note 18
A yellow Strange Doll is hidden near the bench on the southeast side of the Calico Desert.
Note 19
This note is a picture of 1 Willow Lane with multiple arrows. Start from the green square and follow these arrows until you can’t move anymore. For example, a left arrow means that you should turn left and move in this direction until you hit an obstacle. This map will help you find a Solid Gold Lewis statue. To get it, just right-click the necessary tile.
If you place this statue in Pelican Town (anywhere you like), it will trigger an additional secret. If villagers don’t destroy the statue, it will disappear the next day, being replaced with a Rotten Plant. You will receive a letter with 750 gold. In the letter, somebody asks you not to speak of this ever again and not to place such private things in town so that everyone can see them. The statue will appear either in Lewis’ bedroom or Marnie’s bedroom (with a probability of 90% and 10%, respectively). You can steal it and place it in Pelican Town again and again, however, you won’t get another letter.
Note 20
This is another note with arrows. This time, you should start in Town Square, at the center of the eye. The map will lead you to a truck parked near JojaMart. Talk to a driver, and he will ask for a Rabbit’s Foot. If you have one, you can trade it for a Special Charm, which boosts your daily luck.
Note 21
This instruction suggests that you go out of Pelican Town to the Beach, looking for a bush to the northwest of the bridge. If you interact with this bush, Lewis and Marnie will jump out of it! Oops…
Note 22
This is a note from Qi, where he tells you about some secret in the dark tunnel. Grab a Battery Pack, and go to the Bus Stop. There is the Tunnel west from the bus. If you leave the Battery Pack in the middle of the tunnel, in the box on the wall, it will trigger “The Mysterious Qi” quest. However, finding Secret Note 22 is not necessary to start this quest.
Note 23
In this note, somebody asks you to bring Maple Syrup to the Secret Woods. The note is written in poor English. Visit the woods from 6 AM to 7 PM with Maple Syrup, and you will see a cutscene where a Bear will share some useful information about berries with you. The price of Salmonberries and Blackberries will increase three times. You’ll also see a new icon in your Wallet (“Bear’s Knowledge”).
