Stardew Valley: Willy

In this article, we are going to talk about Willy. He is a man who lives on the Beach. He’s spent his entire life traveling the Fern Islands, and now he runs his fishing shop. In this shop, you can buy such items as Trap Bobber, Trout Soup, Iridium Rod, Barbed Hook, Crab Pot, Treasure Hunter, Bait, Cork Bobber, Spinner, Dressed Spinner, Bamboo Pole, Lead Bobber, Fiberglass Rod, and Magnet.

Elliot is Willy’s only neighbor on the Beach and his friend.

Willy’s Schedule

Usually, Willy wakes up at 6:10 AM and right after that, he goes fishing. At 8:50 AM, he goes back home to open the shop. The shop is open until 5:00 PM. Then Willy closes it and goes fishing until 10:00 PM. In Winter, after the shop is closed, Willy usually goes to the Stardrop Saloon and stays there until 11:20 PM. He also visits the Saloon on Fridays, in any season, and on rainy days.

On Saturdays, Willy’s shop is closed, so he spends all day fishing either at the river near Leah’s cottage or in Pelican Town. At 5:00 PM, Willy goes to the Saloon to drink beer.

On Spring 9^th, Willy visits Dr. Harvey at 10:10 AM.

Willy: Gifts Guide

In Stardew Valley, giving gifts is the only way to become friends with someone. Right gifts allow you to earn friendship points, and wrong gifts will make you lose points. For such a reason, we suggest choosing carefully, especially when choosing birthday gifts. Their effect on your friendship is increased eight times. Willy’s birthday is Summer 24^th, so find something good for him!

Willy would really love such items as Sturgeon, Octopus, Catfish, Pumpkin, Diamond, Mead, Sea Cucumber, and Iridium Bar. He also likes such gifts as Lingcod, Gold Bar, Chowder, Tiger Trout, Quartz, Crispy Bass, Fried Calamari, Fish Stew, Baked Fish, Trout Soup, Fried Eel, Crab Cakes, Carp Surprise, Fish Taco, Salmon Dinner, and Lobster Bisque.

We suggest not giving him Life Elixir, Common Mushroom, Leek, Winter Root, Chanterelle, Salmonberry, Dandelion, Purple Mushroom, Daffodil, Snow Yam, Hazelnut, Morel, Wild Horseradish, and Holly. Willy also hates items that are hated by most villagers.

Quests

On Spring 2^nd, you will receive a letter from Willy. He will ask you to meet him on the beach. Do it and get a Bamboo Pole.

During your second year in Stardew Valley, on Winter 13^th, Willy will send you another letter, asking you to catch a Lingcod. By doing this, you get a Friendship heart and a reward of 500 gold.

On Winter 2^nd, Willy will ask you to catch a Squid. If you complete this quest, you will get another Friendship heart and 800 gold.

As well as other villagers, Willy may leave random requests at the “Help Wanted” board. This board is located outside Pierre’s General Store. All requests from this board are rewarded by 150 Friendship points and an amount of gold which is three times bigger than the regular price of the item. Most often, Willy requests certain fish, depending on the season.

Heart Events

Once you reached three, five, seven, or nine Friendship hearts with Willy, he will send you recipes:

• Chowder – a nice dish which increases your health and energy by 101 and 225 points, respectively. It also gives you +1 fishing buff which lasts 16 minutes and 47 seconds;
• Escargot – another dish which has the same effect on your health and energy, and also gives you +2 fishing buff which lasts 16 minutes and 47 seconds;
• Fish Stew is a similar dish which gives +3 fishing buff;
• Lobster Bisque is a dish which gives you +3 fishing and +50 Max Energy buffs, which last 16 minutes and 47 seconds. It also increases your energy by 225 points and your health by 101 points.
