Stardew Valley Grange Display Guide
Every year, on 16th of Fall, there’s a fair in Stardew Valley. To participate in this celebration, enter the pelican Town from 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM. Note that you also cannot visit any other building until 9:00, since all the houses will be locked. There are many games which offer you an opportunity to win Star Tokens. You can exchange tokens for different stuff from the Shop. Every year, you can buy one of each product in the Shop. All the goods will be available next year, with a little exception, which is the Stardrop. You can buy it only once.
The most important part of the Stardew Valley fair is a Grange Display. It’s a contest where you can represent your products and also earn Star Tokens. Every farmer would be excited of such an event, so prepare for it. When you are ready to represent your goods, talk to Mayor Lewis and get ready to be judged by sophisticated jury. A little tip for you: don’t forget to pick up your goods at the end of a Grange Display, because they won’t return to you automatically. If you forget about them, you’ll just loose them.
Many players want to know how to win the first place. To get the highest score, you have to know how your goods will be judged, as well as which goods will bring you biggest profit. Fortunately, some players already studied the code of the game and found all the necessary features, to give you answers on almost all important questions about this event.
If you want to earn more than one Star Token, we suggest you to play games and win prize. Generally, the prize for the first place is 1,000 Star Tokens. For the second place, it’s 500, for the third place – 200, and if you are on the fourth place, you’ll get only 50 tokens.
Your success is measured in points, so we decided to make a little calculator for you. First 14 points you get automatically, just by joining the Grange Display. We don’t know why, so just enjoy it. After that, each item is judged by its quality. Regular items get 1 point, items of Silver Star quality get 2 points, and the Gold Star items get three.
Your points also depend on the number of items presented by you. We suggest you to bring 9 items, since your points are calculated according to a simple formula. Let’s specify the number of empty slots as A. Thus, you get 9-2A points. Try to bring at least 5 items, since then you’ll get 1 point. Four items will just lead to -1 point, and fewer items will make even worse.
Points earned on Stardew Valley fair also depend on the value of each item. You get +1 extra point if your item worth more than 20, more than 90 or 200. Another point is obtained if your item worth more than 300, in case it’s not a Gold Star quality item. If it’s not a Silver Quality item, but it’s worth more than 400, you also get an extra point.
So, you can get 6 points for Gold Star stuff worth more than 200, or Silver Star items worth more than 300, as well as for no-star goods worth more than 400.
After that, your goods are judged by meeting any of the following categories:
- Vegetables
- Artisan Goods (including Stardew Valley Pale Ale and Stardew Valley Truffle Oil)
- Fish
- Tree Saps, Foraging, and Flowers
- Animal Products (focus on eggs and become a legend of the Stardew Valley egg festival)
- Cooking
- Fruits
- Minerals
For one item, you can win a maximum of eight points. Don’t forget that profession bonuses also offer you certain advantages. Summing up, we can draw up a theoretical maximum that you get for 9 items of six unique categories. Suppose, each item got 8 points, then you get 14 + 72 + 9 + 30 = 125 points for all goods. However, such a result seems to be impossible, since you need to get 8 points for 6 unique categories, but you also are able to get 8 points for only four categories, which are fruits, animal products, foraging, and artisan products. To use six categories, you need to have two items worth less than eight points. Also note that, in Fish category, you can get maximum 7 points for items of Iridium Quality. The same situation is with Vegetables. Given these facts, you can expect no more than 123 points in total.
Select your goods carefully and take your time for some math. It will help you earn more than if you just pick any item from your inventory, expecting great profit. Use our advice and win first prize! We wish you good luck on Stardew Valley festival!
