Stardew Valley Maru
As you may have noticed, Stardew Valley game is not just a game about farming routine. There are many kinds of activity, and the most interesting feature of this game is that you can even build a family here. Stardew Valley offers you an opportunity to choose from among twelve characters. Each one of them has its own unique story, characteristics, and preferences. Preferences of characters are quite important, since you need to know which items they like. The point is that you have to give presents if you want to become close friends with somebody, or moreover, if you are looking for somebody to love. Give two gifts to someone you like every week, and don’t forget about birthdays – additional birthday gifts will have eight times better (or worse) effect on your relations. Thus, choose gifts carefully, and we will help you with it.
You also have to participate in characters’ life, if you want to build a friendship or more serious relations. Sometimes you can meet a character at the right time, and in the right place, and this will trigger a unique scene which may have a significant impact on your romantic story. That’s why we always provide our readers with schedules of characters, so you wouldn’t need to search for some villager throughout the whole map.
We keep introducing you bachelorettes, and now we will talk about Maru – she’s a daughter of Demetrius and Robin, and she has a half-brother Sebastian. Maru loves sophisticated gadgets, and she spends most time creating new interesting mechanisms. If you have searched all around the Valley and haven’t found Maru, hospital may be a place where you will find her, since she sometimes does some jobs there. Maru is a nice and friendly girl, so we collected all necessary information, so you could win her heart!

As we already mentioned above, Stardew Valley gifts are one of the most important parts of any relations in Stardew Valley, so we decided to help you choose right gifts.
Stardew Valley Gift Guide: Maru Edition
You can give her any item from the Universal Loves category, and she will be pretty impressed. She also loves Diamond, Battery Pack, Gold Bar, Miner’s Treat, Cauliflower, Iridium Bar, Cheese Cauliflower, Strawberry, Rhubarb Pie, and Pepper Poppers.
Maru likes almost all Universal Likes, as well as Quartz, Copper Bar, Pine Tar, Iron Bar, and Oak Resin.
Just like other characters, Maru is completely neutral to some gifts. You certainly won’t impress her with Winter Root, Chanterelle, Leek, Wild Horseradish, Morel, Hazelnut, Daffodil, Purple Mushroom, and Dandelion.
Maru doesn’t like Salmonberry, Blackberry, Maple Syrup, Common Mushroom, and Crystal Fruit.
We suggest you not to give Maru Truffle, Holly, Pickles, Honey, and Snow yam – these items will drive her mad.
Heart Events
As you earn new friendship points, your relations with Maru gain new hearts.
The two-heart event occurs at the Carpenter’s Shop. Maru will ask you to watch her soil samples because she will leave the Lab for a while. You’ll stay there with Demetrius, and he will start talking weird stuff, telling you that Maru is special, he loves her very much, and he won’t let anything bad happen to her. When Maru returns, Demetrius will say that you two were talking about soil. We suggest you take this dad talk bravely and don’t say a word. This will give you +10 points of friendship with Demetrius.
The four-heart event is at the clinic. She will accidentally break a glass. Harvey will come in, so better suggest Maru to say that it was an accident (+50 friendship points with her).
The six-heart event triggers on the mountain, from 9 PM to 11:40 PM, on a sunny day. You will see her looking through the telescope, and she will be pleasantly surprised to meet you. Look through the telescope and say that you see a beautiful planet. This will let you earn another 30 points of friendship.
The eight-heart event triggers when you meet Maru at the Carpenter’s Shop. She will show you her machine and ask you to flip a switch. You will get electrocuted, but we suggest you to say it’s alright, and that it doesn’t hurt at all. This sweet lie will give you another 30 points of friendship.
Finally, the ten-heart event happens at the Carpenter’s Shop from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Maru will show you her new robot who will ask for freedom because it turns out it’s interested in searching for other synthetic life-forms. Demetrius will come in and say that you certainly are a good choice for Maru.
As for marriage, Stardew Valley implies giving Maru Mermaids Pendant. Just do it, and she will say yes!
