Stardew Valley Keg
Stardew Valley Keg is a device that belongs to the Artisan Equipment category and is used to make various beverages. As soon as you complete the Artisan Bundle in the Pantry, you will receive the Keg as a reward.
All the products are made from different ingredients and have different processing time. Keep in mind that processing time changes depending on whether you’re awake or not. When you sleep, one hour equals to 100 minutes, while when you’re awake, it’s 60 minutes. Thus, the more you sleep, the longer it takes to prepare beverages in your Keg. Here’s a list of beverages with ingredients and average processing time:
- Beer (Wheat) — 1-2 days
- Stardew Valley Wine (Fruits) — 7 days
- Pale Ale (Hops) — 1-2 days
- Mead (Honey) — 10 hours
- Juice (Vegetables) — 4 days
- Coffee (Coffee Bean) — 2 hours
Preserving Jars
Preserving Jars increase your profit from crops, using the following formula: 2n +50, where n is the base crop value. Keg also multiplies the value of Fruits and Vegetables by 3 and 2.25, respectively. Therefore, we suggest that you use a Preserves Jar for low-value crops like Tomatoes and Corn while choosing the Keg for more valuable crops, such as Melons or Ancient Fruit. However, this approach works when considering the max profit. Given the required processing time, Preserving Jars are always more beneficial in terms of profit per day.
Storage Options
You can store Kegs inside your farm buildings. For example, the Shed holds 67 Kegs while requiring only 21 tiles to build. A Barn is a cheaper solution. Although it occupies 28 tiles, it can hold up to 90 Kegs. If you have a Deluxe Barn, it can fit as much as 136 Kegs, while occupying the same space as the regular Barn.
You can also store Kegs outside the farm, however, keep in mind that if NPCs walk through your Keg, they will destroy it. The Railroad and the Desert are also good options to store your Kegs.
