Most trees grow in five stages. The speed of growing depends on a number of factors, so we suggest you to create the best conditions for each tree. Try to plant trees in a center of a clean 3×3 square. If you plant your seeds properly, you’ll get a 20% chance that a tree will grow to the new stage each day. However, it’s possible only in summer, spring or Fall. During winter, you can also plant trees in the Greenhouse and expect as fast growing. Usually each tree takes about 18 days to grow. Less than 10% of trees take more than 31 day. However, some trees may take even more than 46 days.

Keep in mind that, if hit by lightning, your tree will be destroyed, so there will be only a stump left. It’s about all common trees. Fruit trees will just yield Coal for a few days.

Oak Tree

Now let’s take a look at Oak Tree. These trees grow from Acorns, and they do require a clean area. Plant your Stardew Valley oak tree according to all rules described above, and you’ll get a 20% chance of growing to the next stage every day. However, don’t forget that Oak doesn’t grow in winter. According to statistics, more than 90% of seeds take less than 32 days to grow. Make sure that you don’t have any items directly adjacent to the tree, other way it will stop growing on the fourth stage. As soon as it will grow, you’ll be able to place any items as close to it as you need. Oak Tree is used to get Oak Resin. You just need to use Tapper.

About Oak Resin

Even though Oak Resin belongs to the Artisan Goods category, it doesn’t require you to have the Artisan Profession mastered. You just need to place a Tapper on an Oak Tree, and wait from 6 to 7 days. You can grow your own tree on the Farm, or just find any tree in Cindercap Forest. As soon as you don’t need resin anymore, you can remove Tapper from a tree, by hitting it once with an Axe.

Let us remind you about such thing as lightning once again. If the lightning hits a tree, it will destroy both a tree, and a Tapper with all contents. You can get Oak Resin even in Winter, leaving a Tapper on a tree.

Stardew Valley Oak Resin is used as an ingredient for Deluxe Speed-Gro, which stimulates leaf production and increases growth rate by 25%. It’s also required for Keg, a nice device that turns your fruits and vegetables into a beverage.
